We strive to bring together local filmmakers and artists to help connect the South Texas film industry with the world.
On August 21st and 22nd, 2015 STXFF will hold it’s inaugural event with award winning feature film screenings, a short film competition, beer, wine and more.
It’s all about who you know
A wine and beer garden will be held in the City Hall courtyard where attendees can mingle with filmmakers and make new industry connections.
Industry related vendors and businesses are encouraged to set up a booth in the Edinburg City Hall courtyard. This event will offer excellent exposure to industry professionals from the Rio Grande Valley and abroad as well as a wider demographic of young professionals that have an appreciation for film, tech and the visual arts.

White God is the winner of Cannes Film Festival’s Prize Un Certain Regard Award and official selection of Sundance Film Festival. Kornel Mundruczo’s newest film is a story of the indignities visited upon animals by their supposed “human superiors,” but it’s also an brutal, beautiful metaphor for the political and cultural tensions sweeping contemporary Europe.

A father and daughter journey from Denmark to an unknown desert that exists in a realm beyond the confines of civilization.
JAUJA, directed by Lisandro Alonso and starring Viggo Mortensen, is the winner of Cannes Film Festival’s FIPRESCI Prize.
